- Nickel silver bolsters
- Mother of pearl scales
- Brass liners
- Steel back spring
- Pencil/Pen has a stamped nickel silver barrel
- Pencil and pen have slides which are in grooves on opposite sides of the barrel. Pencil has a twist mechanism
- Dates to between 1837 and 1850, excellent condition (there is light staining on blade, back spring, and pen nib)
